Skill Tree Guide
Learn how the Echoes of Aincrad skill tree connects weapon paths, stats, SP economy, survival nodes, and partner synergy so your build grows in one clear direction.

Skill tree choices should support the weapon, stat spread, and sword skills you actually use.
How the Skill Tree Works
The skill tree is the progression layer behind your Echoes of Aincrad build. It should answer four questions: which weapon are you committing to, which stats scale that weapon, how much survival do you need, and how often will you use Sword Skills or partner actions?
Until the final launch balance is fully documented, the safest plan is to avoid scattered unlocks. Pick one primary weapon path, one secondary defensive path, and only then branch into niche damage or utility nodes.
Skill Tree Node Types
Stat Nodes
Small permanent boosts to Strength, Dexterity, Agility, Intelligence, Vitality, Endurance, or Mind. These shape your baseline survivability, damage, and resource pools.
Weapon Nodes
Weapon-specific unlocks that improve sword skills, cooldowns, SP use, or proficiency bonuses for a chosen weapon family.
Survival Nodes
Defensive upgrades for HP, guard stability, recovery, and potion efficiency. These matter most in Death Game Mode.
Partner Nodes
Synergy upgrades that improve support skills, Combination Skills, or partner uptime during longer encounters.
Best Skill Tree Builds
Balanced Sword Starter
Endurance, Strength, AgilityThe safest first skill tree path. Take HP and guard nodes first, then One-Handed Sword damage and SP efficiency.
Rapier Crit Route
Agility, Dexterity-style skill damage, SP sustainPrioritize speed, crit windows, and low-cost sword skill nodes. Works best when you can dodge reliably.
Greatsword Boss Breaker
Strength, stamina control, staggerStack heavy-hit damage and guard-break upgrades. Add enough survival nodes to survive whiffed charged attacks.
Death Game Survival
Endurance, shield, consumable efficiencyThe low-risk route: HP, armor, shield, potion value, and partner healing before damage luxury nodes.
Skill Tree vs Sword Skills
Sword Skills are the attacks you equip and activate in combat. The skill tree is the long-term structure that makes those attacks hit harder, cost less SP, recover faster, or fit a specific weapon path.

Should I unlock every weapon path?
No. Focus one main weapon first, then branch only when your core damage and survival needs are covered.
